Tuesday – Midday Update
Howdy Folks, Mark here again… just here at Oma’s now as it’s to far to drive back home to Baden, while Lindsay sleeps at St.Mary’s I was just sitting there while she slept, so when she got up to pump she sent me here. Basically we’re waiting for the hospital to call and tell her that she can get transferred to Grandriver. We thought the procedure would be done at St Mary’s but I guess they don’t really know, at the end of the day. So many variables – Dr Sharkey came in to see Lindsay this morning and told her that they’re gonna try to move her to Grandriver, but if a bed is not available then he’d try and slip her in at the end of the day today. As he’s operating at St. Mary’s today. He did...
Momma's Going Under The Knife
So as the title says… Lindsay had another attack 2 hours after she was home from the hospital Sunday and then needed percocet to relive the pain… the dr said he’d be able to do the surgery in the new year, we later found out Feb 17th was the date, But today MONDAY she had another attack.. and back to the hospital she went. There she learned that her liver enzymes were at elevated levels in her blood work which means that the gall bladder was indeed messing with things. So since she’d been in already and the severe attacks were happening more frequently they are gonna give her an emergency procedure, and tomorrow she’ll be moved to GrandRiver where they’ll take out the whole thing. sigh… well on the up side, Ayden had...
Made it to Monday Morning…
Well folks, We made it to Monday morning… thank goodness… Momma managed to avoid any major upsets during the night and she’s such a trooper she didn’t even miss any pumping, not that she can keep the milk while she’s on the percocet. I made my morning phone call to the hospital this morning, as I like to filter the bad news through me to Lindsay. I’ve had a few phone calls to work with her in tears that I’ve had to defuse… she’s so cute…. but I digress the real news here is that Fiona our nurse for the night reports that Ayden not only has reached a weight of 1130!!!! grams! but he didn’t have one single little hiccup bratty – apnea or anything!!! he was perfect all night. Little guy you make...
Uuuuuugh… not again…
Well we got Lindsay home and then she was fine – she had some gatorade and two pieces of toast with jam. Then she slept – then she woke up and she came up to the bedroom where I was putting things away in the closet. And I turn around and there she is, tears in her eyes from the pain that’s returning.. so we pop in two Percocet and an hour later she’s fine… and she’s been asleep since 5pm… thank the lord for drugs! Poor thing tho’ two attacks within 24hrs. Tomorrow we’re gonna call and get on a cancellation list for the operation… otherwise she’s got to wait till some time “AFTER CHRISTMAS” that’s a bit of a wait in such pain… now she might not have another attack –...
Sunday…
Hey Folks, What a ride these past few days have been… I can safely say that Lindsay and I are totally drained. Man I really need another day off.. uugh. We started this weekend With a Funeral, Then Saturday night at 11 we headed up to St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener here, as Lindsay was in so much pain that not even two Tylenol 3’s could cut through the pain. We got to the Hospital and they gave Lindsay 7mils of Moriphene, and that didn’t work – so then that barely dented the pain… so they gave her something more potent than that.. I forget the name but two of those shots took care of things nicely. So 3am rolls around and she’s finally out of pain. It really broke my heart to see her tear filled eye’s look up at...
End of the day good news
First off I would like to wish Ayden a happy 30 day birthday. We have had our precious son for 30 days now, each day is still and will always be a blessing! So as we do every night, we called in for an update on our little guy. he is having a good day all around today. Right now he is in 29% oxygen, his food has been up’d to 12 mils every hour and a half and he is still on the antibiotics. (apparently they will run for 10 days as per the doctors orders right now). He has only had 3 spells today and they were not the bad one that he had the other night. the nurse did say that Ayden’s tummy looked a bit big..he only had a few small poops today so she is giving him what’s called a Glycerin tip (kinda like a suppository) to get him to release a bit...
