November 30th update

Whew…what a few crazy days we have had here. Met with the doctor on Wednesday last week, signed all the papers for the new house on Thursday and then moved with a lot of help on Friday. Saturday we ran errands and unpacked a few boxes. Today however, we went to church again and then to see our little boy!!! Ayden is doing much better then last week. His sleep apnea is occurring less and less. The good news is that his heart rate for the last little while has been at 180-190 beats per minute. This is rather high, but today when we went to see him, the heart rate was 145 beats per minute!!!! He still requires oxygen, but the nurse told me last week that this will be a requirement until he reaches about 1500 grams in weight (around 3 pounds)…Right now he...

Hi gang… well the move is over! wow – what an undertaking. It has been so busy the last 2 days, I can hardly move. My whole body aches. Yes folks – I am an artist and don’t have the physique of an athelete. Nope my idea of being active is when I have to go re connect the wireless when the internet goes down. So to be as active as we were the past two days… my body is wondering what the heck is up. We couldn’t have done it without our helpers. To all of you, who know who they are. From the bottom of our hearts thank you. sooo sleepy… man oh man – my brother was going like a packing tornado… I wonder how he’d faring. November 27th update

As we do everyday, we start the day with a phone call to the hospital and we end the day with a phone call to the hospital. Talking with our favorite nurse Julie, we leared that at 4:00pm this afternoon a spinal tap was done to Ayden. No you are probably wondering what this means and why this is done, so here is a brief explanation. The spine, is like a big straw that goes right up to your brain. In the center of the spine or straw run your nerve connections and spinal fluid. This is the same fluid that is in Ayden’s brain. The fluid in his brain has been building up over the past few weeks and creating a lot of pressure in his head. This in turn has affected Ayden’s breathing, feedings and heart rate. As such, we have given the doctor’s...

How About Some Good News For A Change…

yesterday in our meeting with the Dr, we asked about our milk production, situation. For the longest time Lindsay mentioned she was embarrassed by how much milk she was producing. And man.. if we visited Ayden that night it only got worse..or better depending out you view it. 😀 When we mentioned to the Dr’s and Nurses that were present “look the freezer is full do we just toss the rest till he can catch up” and man oh man the reaction was like l had just made the largest social pho-pah ever. The Dr’s jaw literally fell open. He replies “Don’t do that.. that stuff is liquid gold!!!!” to which the nurse added “Some people are lucky to fill even one container… that milk has all the stuff he’s gonna...
