We’re Back!!!!

Well after a long break from updates, I’ve managed to get back to it and start writing some more – the good thing about writing after so long is that lots of things have happened. There are some Firsts: First Laugh Moved out of the Bassinet Changed Food – On 100% Formula Now Started to Teethe The big thing there was that mom can get him to laugh by making the noise ‘ah-gooo’ and tickling his tummy. Ayden had some issues going poo – we studied things and came to the conclusions that he wasn’t constipated.. constipation is described as being dry and clumped. Ayden’s poo is wet and thick  like paste. Now the key was that it was dark – really dark green.. IRON. Iron does that… So we started by cutting out...

A Mother's Pride

You ask Lindsay right now why she’s so proud of her little boy and she’ll tell you it’s not because he survived such an ordeal in the hospital, and it’s not because he’s holding his head up, or has discovered his hands now… not even that he’s learned to play with toys and is incredibly close to rolling over… nope this mom will tell you she’s soooo proud of her little boy because he had a big poop! Yup – apparently little ones can be very sensitive to the intricate balance of vitamins and minerals they get.. so you really need to be mindful. Ayden has been suffering, and I do mean suffering – from constipation and gas. And it really breaks your heart when you see him so unhappy. We’ve had to...

A mother's smile…

Well, yesteday was my first mother’s day and I must say that it was everything that I could have asked for. Dad got up early with Ayden and let me sleep in…then I woke up to homemade waffles. Ayden got me a wonderful card that made me cry and also some pictures in a frame that also made me cry. mark got me a movie as well. We just spent the day together as a family. Ayden was in a great mood yesterday too.  It was the best mother’s day I could have asked for. Another milestone was passed yesterday as well. All of the breast milk that I had pumped over the three months while Ayden was in the hospital is now gone. 6.5 gallons of milk (500 collection containers). I am so proud that I was able to pump enough milk to have Ayden get from birth to May...

Mother's Day 2009

Well Lindsay got her first Mother’s Day under her belt now. It was just about a perfect day… (we could have used some sunshine – but otherwise awesomeness all around) I got up at the crack of stupid and went to get Ayden so that mom could sleep in.. me and him hung out, I fed him and then he kinda started to fall asleep in his bouncy chair while “Don’t Mess With The Zohan” played on the T.V. Mom woke up to home made waffles and a card that Ayden got for mom which had two bee’s on the front and  just about says it all. “Your hugs are sweet as Honey.. There’s love packed in each one and Mommy, hope you always know, I love you back a ton! Happy Mother’s Day! ” Ayden also got mom a triptich picture...
