Busy week!

Well little one, it’s been one busy week that we have just had.  Wednesday last week we had physio at the house, she is very pleased with how well you are doing!  Thursday June 18th was the big day. First of it was daddy’s birthday. You and mommy were so excited about your gift to dad that we had to give it to him on Wednesday nite. You got him the Ghost busters xbox video game and some xbox points….lol…he loved it!  Thursday also was your (ouch) Circumcision. Daddy took the morning off of work and we drove to the doctors office in Kitchen to be at the office for 8:30 am. First off they start with putting a cream in your diaper to numb everything. Then the doctor meets with all the parents as there were quite a few there for the same...

7 Months old today!!!

Well Ayden today marks your 7th month with us!  You are such a wonderful addition to our lives! … so many things have been happening lately!  First off, today you tried your first taste of vanilla ice cream. While daddy was holding you at Oma’s house, I took a teeny tiny bit of ice cream on my finger and put it on your bottom lip and tongue. You seemed very pleased with it! Today we also went for a walk in waterloo park to see the Waterloo Art Festival…you slept most of the walk. 🙂  You also got a new jolly jumper and tried it for the first time today. Your head is still a bit wobbly, but in a week or so you will just love this new toy! You also had your first time at the cottage last week. Grammy and Grampy (Lyli and my dad) showed you around...

Daddy's Update

Hey little fella – firstly I’d like to say it’s 6:32am and your still in bed.. so thanks again for a full nights sleep. That was awesome! I just wanted to drop in here another little update for you on whats going on in your life… as your probably not going to remember. So here goes… Off the top your mother and I are both very happy that you had a HUGE monster poo last night… your on what appears to be a 4 day schedual so we’re monitoring that. Our research tells us that – that is not a bad thing.. some babies can go like 7 days between poops so there you go. If you would have asked me last year at this time if I would be excited to hear that you had gone poop, I would have stared at you with a blank look like...

We’re Back!!!!

Well after a long break from updates, I’ve managed to get back to it and start writing some more – the good thing about writing after so long is that lots of things have happened. There are some Firsts: First Laugh Moved out of the Bassinet Changed Food – On 100% Formula Now Started to Teethe The big thing there was that mom can get him to laugh by making the noise ‘ah-gooo’ and tickling his tummy. Ayden had some issues going poo – we studied things and came to the conclusions that he wasn’t constipated.. constipation is described as being dry and clumped. Ayden’s poo is wet and thick  like paste. Now the key was that it was dark – really dark green.. IRON. Iron does that… So we started by cutting out...

A Mother's Pride

You ask Lindsay right now why she’s so proud of her little boy and she’ll tell you it’s not because he survived such an ordeal in the hospital, and it’s not because he’s holding his head up, or has discovered his hands now… not even that he’s learned to play with toys and is incredibly close to rolling over… nope this mom will tell you she’s soooo proud of her little boy because he had a big poop! Yup – apparently little ones can be very sensitive to the intricate balance of vitamins and minerals they get.. so you really need to be mindful. Ayden has been suffering, and I do mean suffering – from constipation and gas. And it really breaks your heart when you see him so unhappy. We’ve had to...

A mother's smile…

Well, yesteday was my first mother’s day and I must say that it was everything that I could have asked for. Dad got up early with Ayden and let me sleep in…then I woke up to homemade waffles. Ayden got me a wonderful card that made me cry and also some pictures in a frame that also made me cry. mark got me a movie as well. We just spent the day together as a family. Ayden was in a great mood yesterday too.  It was the best mother’s day I could have asked for. Another milestone was passed yesterday as well. All of the breast milk that I had pumped over the three months while Ayden was in the hospital is now gone. 6.5 gallons of milk (500 collection containers). I am so proud that I was able to pump enough milk to have Ayden get from birth to May...
