Uuuuuugh… not again…
Well we got Lindsay home and then she was fine – she had some gatorade and two pieces of toast with jam. Then she slept – then she woke up and she came up to the bedroom where I was putting things away in the closet. And I turn around and there she is, tears in her eyes from the pain that’s returning.. so we pop in two Percocet and an hour later she’s fine… and she’s been asleep since 5pm… thank the lord for drugs! Poor thing tho’ two attacks within 24hrs. Tomorrow we’re gonna call and get on a cancellation list for the operation… otherwise she’s got to wait till some time “AFTER CHRISTMAS” that’s a bit of a wait in such pain… now she might not have another attack –...
Sunday…
Hey Folks, What a ride these past few days have been… I can safely say that Lindsay and I are totally drained. Man I really need another day off.. uugh. We started this weekend With a Funeral, Then Saturday night at 11 we headed up to St. Mary’s Hospital in Kitchener here, as Lindsay was in so much pain that not even two Tylenol 3’s could cut through the pain. We got to the Hospital and they gave Lindsay 7mils of Moriphene, and that didn’t work – so then that barely dented the pain… so they gave her something more potent than that.. I forget the name but two of those shots took care of things nicely. So 3am rolls around and she’s finally out of pain. It really broke my heart to see her tear filled eye’s look up at...
End of the day good news
First off I would like to wish Ayden a happy 30 day birthday. We have had our precious son for 30 days now, each day is still and will always be a blessing! So as we do every night, we called in for an update on our little guy. he is having a good day all around today. Right now he is in 29% oxygen, his food has been up’d to 12 mils every hour and a half and he is still on the antibiotics. (apparently they will run for 10 days as per the doctors orders right now). He has only had 3 spells today and they were not the bad one that he had the other night. the nurse did say that Ayden’s tummy looked a bit big..he only had a few small poops today so she is giving him what’s called a Glycerin tip (kinda like a suppository) to get him to release a bit...

Movin’ On Up…
And just like the theme song – we’re back on the way up… wow – I mean they told us that there would be up’s and downs but – yeesh these are some ups and downs. So this morning since I had the day off, for the passing of Stella Koop, (my sister-in-law Cindy’s mom) we thought we’d head on up early in the day to see Ayden. And am I ever glad that I did! I got to play with his feet, he would kick out at my hands or push off of my fingers… I played the “this little piggy” song on his toes.. and they are sooooo cute. I have to say – I am rather proud of the little fella, if I do say so myself. Not to worry though I did let Linday in there for at least a few seconds…. (wink) So lets get to the...
Poor little guy
Well Mark and I went to see Ayden last night. We found out that the lumbar puncture fluid did come back positive for infection. Ayden has E. Coli. They don’t know how it happens but all babies are prone to infection in the nicu. Whether it be flu, cold virus, e. coli…who knows how they get them…The good thing is that Ayden is already on Anti-biotics for this infection. I spoke to the nurse last night and asked how long the antibiotics run for and she said based on the infection it could be up to 21 days! I guess they want to keep the antibiotics going to ensure that all the infection is cleared, and I don’t blame them. I did get to hold Ayden last night, but you could tell he was not feeling well. He had some shivers and coughs and was...
