Happy Birthday!!!

Never would I have thought when I went to bed last night that I would be woken up with contractions at 1:00am. Ayden Wilhelm was born at 7:32am on November 13th 2008. I think he might even be the first Scorpio in the family…He weighs in at 780grams (1 3/4 pounds). He’s a tiny little red button. Already, he has all the girls swooning over him; in fact he has two taking care of him full-time right now. I had the opportunity to shake his little hand this morning. He is very precious to us. We will keep you updated with his health, but as it stands right now, he is a textbook premie!

Eeep!

Just a wee bit nervous right now.. they come each night and give Lindsay a bloodpressure test and take the heart rate of Lindsay and Ayden.  Normally Lindsay has a high heart rate – we think because she doesn’t want to be there away from home., So it’s normal – it’s the stress of the situation.. but Ayden’s beats per minute were normal for his point in development. Tonight however his heart rate was elevated to 180 beats per minute on the 2nd test (they did two) so now they’ve wheeled Lindsay away for a stress test of some sort. And notified the Dr. Man my tummy is flip flopping… I hope they’re okay… If anyone wants to lose weight btw – just go through some sort of ordeal like this – If your...

New roommate…

Well, being in the hospital, I don’t have coverage for a private or semi-private room so I am in a regular ward room that is covered by OHIP. This means that there are 4 beds to the room, one bathroom and people come and go all the time.  When I arrived here on thrusday last week, there was another lady already in the room, so i was patient number two. On friday another patient came to this room so there were three of us….Slowly the other two patients were discharged and allowed to go home. I was then granted a window bed rather then the bed by the door and the hallway, so much better as I am hoping to be a long term patient here. I have had the luxury of having this room to myself for the past few days. It was like being in a four bed private room....

25 weeks today!!!

Well today is Wednesday november 12th and I made it to 25 weeks!!! I have been in the hospital for 7 days now and the bordom is just setting in. I am trying very hard to keep a positive mind, but there are times in the day where it creeps up on me and I feel very overwhelmed, but given the situation that is really understandable. I had an awful sleep last night. Tossed and turned and just couldnt get comfy. I think today might be an afternoon nap day, but who knows. The nurse came in and took my pulse and blood pressure. Pulse is still high, I think it was 123 beats per minute this morning, but blood pressure is alright. She also checked Ayden’s heart beat as they do every morning and he is still beating strong. I had a shower this morning, Man that feels...

Work – November 11th

So tonight my boss Enza came and visited me in the hospital. She brought me some paperwork to fill out for the short-term disability that I will be going on through work and also came for a visit to see how I was doing. She also to my suprise brought along a bag of goodies (thanks to everyone at work). there was some candy in there, oreo cookies, a nice blanket, pj’s, a craft kit and a word search book. There was also a card that everyone signed which I couldn’t read while Enza was here as it would have made me cry (however I read it when she left and it was nice to see the support from everyone!). I would like to thank my friends at work for their support. This is definately not an easy time being here, but it’s nice to know that people are...

November 11, 2008

Today my pulse was 120 beats per min. which is a little high still, but they have done a bunch of tests on me and they are not really concerned as my heart is fine and dandy. I am told that I have wonderful blood pressure though!
