How About Some Good News For A Change…

yesterday in our meeting with the Dr, we asked about our milk production, situation. For the longest time Lindsay mentioned she was embarrassed by how much milk she was producing. And man.. if we visited Ayden that night it only got worse..or better depending out you view it. 😀 When we mentioned to the Dr’s and Nurses that were present “look the freezer is full do we just toss the rest till he can catch up” and man oh man the reaction was like l had just made the largest social pho-pah ever. The Dr’s jaw literally fell open. He replies “Don’t do that.. that stuff is liquid gold!!!!” to which the nurse added “Some people are lucky to fill even one container… that milk has all the stuff he’s gonna...

Holding my baby for the first time ever!!!

Well tonight was the most amazing night that I have had. I actually got to hold my son for the first time since he was born 14 days ago…. When Ayden was born, they showed him to me and then wisked him away in an incubator. I have hardly even touched him since he was born and never even got the chance to hold him as he needed to be with the doctors and team of people that kept him alive. Tonight the nurse asked me if I wanted to hold Ayden. My first reaction was to say no…he is so fragile and he is hooked up to so many wires that I was really nervous, but Mark said that I should. I let the nurse know that I would like to hold him. The nurse Julie, arranged the wires and tubes and put Ayden right on my chest under my shirt. I actually got to hold him...

27 Weeks and Counting…

Today marks the 27 week mark… he’s now 14 days now. Way to go little guy… He’s at a point were he’s got a lot of obstacles to over come.. lots of them. I’m very proud of how far he’s come… But daddy need his little boy to work even harder and heal his brain. Every so many days the Doctors at the hospital change up and then they meet and share notes so the new Doctor can take over confidently. Tonight we went down to visit and we had a catch up meeting to see where everything is at. I’ll admit that I was worried, I thought that things have turned for the worst. We were told that Ayden has developed a form of sleep apnea. He stops breathing from time to time. So the nurse on duty will rub his back and...

Tuesday Nov 25th

Well this concludes another beautiful day that we’ve had a son. 😀 It’s the 13th Day, he was born on the 13th… trippy I know. Today is a case of no news is good news. He’s on 40% oxygen… still swinging up and down… but otherwise is just trucking along. Tomorrow Lindsay will do the big update as she’ll be going down to see him… I unfortunately can’t see him as I’ve got a bit of a cold. 🙁 craptastic! ah well – I have to work any way – then it’s pack pack pack. We did have a chance to go down and see the new place again.. wow – I forgot how cool the place is. Very good stuff. So little fella – Mom and Dad love you and hope you rest well this evening.. if you get bored and decide...

Being A Snorer… sucks

Tickle In Yer Throat…

So with the infection in Ayden’s lungs. We’re going to put a moritorium on visits. Until he gets a little bigger and healthier. They suggest that when you are visiting that even if you don’t feel super sick but have a tickle in your throat or something like that… he’s really subsceptable to those germs… he doesn’t have a strong immune system yet. We’ll post when visits are allowed again. Thanks agian for understanding. They wont know for a few days the results on the tests for his lungs – same goes for his head ultrasound. Hopefully nothing new.. no change.. that would be awesome… I mean if it shrunk it would be awesome.. but I’ll settle for no change. We’ll know more in the next few...
