A Quick Note About Comments…

Just wanted to leave a quick note here.. in order to send a comment… you need to click on the title of the article you want to comment on or where it says at the bottom 2 comments. or No comments. All these links take you to the article page where at the bottom you will find a place for comments. Why Commenting is Important… It lets Mom and Dad here know that people are reading the blog, but more importantly when Ayden is 1 year old which is when I plan on stopping the blog. I will take the entire site and the database that these posts are in and put it all on a DVD for Ayden and he’ll be able to pop in the disk and go through the site and all the comments. And I think it’s important for him to see all the people rooting for him. So write...

A Great Start To The Year…

So after a really nice relaxing New Years, which Lindsay and I really needed to spend together… I mean.. even when we’re home we really don’t get to spend time relaxing because there’s cleaning or unpacking or she’s pumping or something is always up so it really meant a lot to just sit on the couch together and ring in the new year like that… shortly into the night though… Daddy was bad and wouldn’t stop snoring… so I was banished to the couch… lucky for me we just got a new couch and OMG! it was an awesome sleep 😀 So we got up this morning and I thought “I wanna make some Waffles…” so we had breakfast and then Lindsay wanted to head up and see the little fella right off the bat.. so...

32 Weeks – Happy New Year

Howdy folks! Dad here again… just got back in from a busy day of errands… in all the hustle and bustle of the move and Ayden visits plus Christmas we totally forgot to go change the address on our healthcards. So we popped in there today and got new cards. After that we decided to head up and visit the little guy. I mean common who could stay away.. 😀 So 60mins later we arrive at the hospital and as a Happy New years to us.. and all other visitors.. it’s free parking.. 😀 We got up to see the little fella and he was all tucked in and asleep. But mom managed to coax him out for a little kangaroo time.. and it was awesome.. here are some pictures that I snagged. So in the NICU before we touch Ayden you have to sanitize your hands.. but the stuff...

Prayer Angels

So the other day I went down the mailbox, and inside was a little key – the key said that I had a package in another larger mail box.. so I used that key to open the larger door. Inside that was a small box… on that box was a card… here’s what it said… “Mark & Lindsay Sorry this is arriving late. One of Ayden’s prayer angels (Lynn B.) is a paeds nurse in Amsterdam, and it took longer to get the pacifier. The pacifier we have included (The preemie one) is Difrax. These are used by all children’s hospitals in the Netherlands. The reason they are not available in North America is because the US/Canada health model is not exactly welcoming on buying pacifiers that are $25 a piece. Lynne swears by these and wanted...

December 30th update

Well we have had quite a few visits with Ayden over the last few days and he is doing really well. I went in by myself yesterday and had some snuggle time with our little one. I actually fell asleep in the chair when I was holding him!!!  LOL….so cozy… So as for updates there are a few today. Ayden’s weight has gone up – he is currently 1470 grams (3.24 pounds) His feeds are being changed. He is currently on 18 mils of food over a 60 minute period and then he gets an hour break. They are changing this to 20 mils instead of 18! With his CPAP (the oxygen) he also is on something called NIPPV. This is a device that is included with the oxygen and it gives Ayden extra breaths of air every minute. It basically pushes air into his lungs so he...

Tiny Feet Full of Kick!

Hiya Folks, Dad here – I get to do today’s update!! he he So despite the incredible winds out today we just couldn’t stay away from the little fella. So we picked up Opa and off we went to visit. Ayden looked awesome today. When we got there… the nurse informed us that Ayden was doing better with his oxygen so they’re going to try him on a new feeding regiment. He’ll get 18mils of food over an hour then he’ll get an hour break. Tomorrow at 8am Ayden gets his first eye exam. They’ll give him the drops that dilate his eyes then they’ll look inside and make sure everything is developing normally. So that’ll be good to see. Otherwise he ly on his back with his little limbs kickin’ and waving in the...
