A Moment From Dad…
Yet another wonderful day we are blessed with a little one… he he he. We were up at the hospital today and Mom was fortunate enough to have some kangaroo time. And knowing now how good that was.. it was great to see. She spent 2 and a half hours with the little fella. At first he was on his back in her arms but then as things progressed he was moved onto his belly.. Mom supported him by holding his little bum to keep him against her. After that he was happy. After Ayden went back into his incubator then mom went to pump… I stood there staring at my son sleeping… and I started to think about when he gets older… I knew from experience seeing other children that if you are doing your job correctly as a parent you’ll hear at some point...
January 2nd update
Hi everyone! So today’s update is a good one! this morning dad and I called in for our morning update and we were told that Ayden was a bit fussy today. He had spit up a few times and was swinging quite a bit. But this evening’s call bring this fussy’ness to a close. Apparently Ayden had a full tummy and did not have a poop this morning. They think that since he was so full and was trying to push a poop out that his tummy did an opposite and the food came back up. He did have a poop this afternoon and after that he was just fine! Ayden now weighs 1591 grams (3.5 pounds). He is also breathing room air as well. He still has his nose prongs in, but room air that you and I breath has 21% oxygen in it. Ayden has not required more then this amount of...
A Quick Note About Comments…
Just wanted to leave a quick note here.. in order to send a comment… you need to click on the title of the article you want to comment on or where it says at the bottom 2 comments. or No comments. All these links take you to the article page where at the bottom you will find a place for comments. Why Commenting is Important… It lets Mom and Dad here know that people are reading the blog, but more importantly when Ayden is 1 year old which is when I plan on stopping the blog. I will take the entire site and the database that these posts are in and put it all on a DVD for Ayden and he’ll be able to pop in the disk and go through the site and all the comments. And I think it’s important for him to see all the people rooting for him. So write...
A Great Start To The Year…
So after a really nice relaxing New Years, which Lindsay and I really needed to spend together… I mean.. even when we’re home we really don’t get to spend time relaxing because there’s cleaning or unpacking or she’s pumping or something is always up so it really meant a lot to just sit on the couch together and ring in the new year like that… shortly into the night though… Daddy was bad and wouldn’t stop snoring… so I was banished to the couch… lucky for me we just got a new couch and OMG! it was an awesome sleep 😀 So we got up this morning and I thought “I wanna make some Waffles…” so we had breakfast and then Lindsay wanted to head up and see the little fella right off the bat.. so...
32 Weeks – Happy New Year
Howdy folks! Dad here again… just got back in from a busy day of errands… in all the hustle and bustle of the move and Ayden visits plus Christmas we totally forgot to go change the address on our healthcards. So we popped in there today and got new cards. After that we decided to head up and visit the little guy. I mean common who could stay away.. 😀 So 60mins later we arrive at the hospital and as a Happy New years to us.. and all other visitors.. it’s free parking.. 😀 We got up to see the little fella and he was all tucked in and asleep. But mom managed to coax him out for a little kangaroo time.. and it was awesome.. here are some pictures that I snagged. So in the NICU before we touch Ayden you have to sanitize your hands.. but the stuff...
