New roommate…

Well, being in the hospital, I don’t have coverage for a private or semi-private room so I am in a regular ward room that is covered by OHIP. This means that there are 4 beds to the room, one bathroom and people come and go all the time.  When I arrived here on thrusday last week, there was another lady already in the room, so i was patient number two. On friday another patient came to this room so there were three of us….Slowly the other two patients were discharged and allowed to go home. I was then granted a window bed rather then the bed by the door and the hallway, so much better as I am hoping to be a long term patient here. I have had the luxury of having this room to myself for the past few days. It was like being in a four bed private room....

25 weeks today!!!

Well today is Wednesday november 12th and I made it to 25 weeks!!! I have been in the hospital for 7 days now and the bordom is just setting in. I am trying very hard to keep a positive mind, but there are times in the day where it creeps up on me and I feel very overwhelmed, but given the situation that is really understandable. I had an awful sleep last night. Tossed and turned and just couldnt get comfy. I think today might be an afternoon nap day, but who knows. The nurse came in and took my pulse and blood pressure. Pulse is still high, I think it was 123 beats per minute this morning, but blood pressure is alright. She also checked Ayden’s heart beat as they do every morning and he is still beating strong. I had a shower this morning, Man that feels...

Work – November 11th

So tonight my boss Enza came and visited me in the hospital. She brought me some paperwork to fill out for the short-term disability that I will be going on through work and also came for a visit to see how I was doing. She also to my suprise brought along a bag of goodies (thanks to everyone at work). there was some candy in there, oreo cookies, a nice blanket, pj’s, a craft kit and a word search book. There was also a card that everyone signed which I couldn’t read while Enza was here as it would have made me cry (however I read it when she left and it was nice to see the support from everyone!). I would like to thank my friends at work for their support. This is definately not an easy time being here, but it’s nice to know that people are...

Welcome

So here’s Little Fire the blog for everything and anything pertaining to Ayden Wilhelm. We will keep family up to date with all the sorted details about how mom is doing and what is going on with the little fella so buckle up it’s gonna (hopefully) be a long haul. What’s with the Name? Little Fire is the meaning of the Gaelic name Ayden, and like a tiny fire that we’re trying to coax to a roaring flame, we’re nurturing this little fella. cheers Cheers
