Point of No Return

Morning, So the little guy slept from 11 till 4:30am a pretty hefty jaunt through the night I’d say. Mom is still feeling like a shoe… which is to say she’s not well. Hey – it’s 5:27am right now leave me alone for the shoe thing.  So as I was saying.. when I get up at this time there’s a point of no return, where either I can go back to sleep till 6am or I just stay up… I’ve passed that time.. which is 5am. We’re past that right now.. so only mommy will be going back to bed.  She needs it though… So he’s currently burping right now… or rather in the process of being burped.. said burp has yet to arrive. And can on occasion be fairly difficult to coax out. He’s had his morning...

Mommy is my SuperHero!!!

Well as you can tell by the title tonight, Ayden has been – well the polite word is restless… and we’ll leave it at that. We started feeding him at 6pm and off and on between burps and hiccups he drank.. and then he spaced out and we thought oooo he’s gonna sleep but then he’d flinch and wake up… so we started over, more food and burping… we passed off between each other so that not one of us had to take the whole brunt of his fury. However I will heartily admit that Lindsay really took most of the brunt of that… And to top it off she’s sick, on antibiotics with a nasal spray. Well she managed to get Ayden rocked to sleep finally at 9pm. His room was dark and we both crept out – a sense of victory within...

It's Midnight – are you still eating?

Well here we are… it’s midnight and mommy is feeding little Ayden – who has just successfully burped. Ya today was a pretty good day compared to yesterday. I note these so that the little fella will know what a stinker he is. And by stinker I mean another word your not old enough to know yet. Ya yesterday Ayden was like some little monster… OMG! he just wouldn’t settle down. We tried everything… first you’d pick him up .. and he’d cry.. and then you’d check his diaper .. he’d cry.. you’d give him food, he’d eat and then cry…. we tried to give him gripe water.. he’d fuss and toss his arms in the way and spit it out.. then cry.. there was just no pleasing this little guy. Poor...

2 weeks at home

Well today Ayden has been home for 2 weeks already. the last few weeks have felt so much like a blur gone by. We have had so many visitors and also some doctors appointments that we had to go to with him, it just feels like it went so fast. I am really enjoying having Ayden home though. So after the first two weeks there are a few things that I have learned. 1. SLEEP IS NO LONGER PART OF MY VOCABULARY… 2. AYDEN RULES THE HOUSE!!! lol Ayden seems to have his nights and days mixed up. He will sleep most of the day away, but then at night after you feed him he is wide awake!!!  Big eyes looking around at everything. I know that you can try to switch their schedule by keeping them awake during the day so that they sleep at night, but it just seems like a lot of...

whew what a week!

well this has been quite a week for us. Mark was able to take this week off of work to get to know our new family at home and I am so glad that he did. I have to say that having our little Ayden home is such a blessing. He brings so much joy to our lives! Monday we had our follow up doctors appointment from Ayden being discharged from the hospital. He is doing really well. From Thursday Feb 26 to Monday March 2nd Ayden went from 6 pounds 4 ounces to 6 pounds 7 ounces!!!  woo hoo….we are feeding Ayden breast milk still but he is not doing so well on breast feeding so we are giving the milk through a bottle and he is doing really well with that and it shows as he is gaining weight! He is a hungry little guy!!! We have had a few visitors this week as well....
