Today was a big day for Ayden as you might tell with all the posts that have been updated. Another thing happened today that just brought tears to my eyes. I work very hard to keep Ayden happy, fed, changed, I put him to sleep, I do everything for him as he’s not able to do anything himself. Sometimes it feels like you give give give and he does not even know that it’s mommy doing it. Well today Ayden rolled over for the first time and then I gave him a bottle. After his bottle we usually sit and play for a bit so the formula has some time to digest and not come back up…but today was a bit different. Ayden just stared at me. He had a smile on his face and just his eyes said to me that he knew who I was. That was the payback that I...
Smiles and Laughs and babbles…
Ayden LOVES to smile and laugh. For the past month or so you had to tickle him or raspberry his belly to get a laugh out, but now Ayden laughs if you make funny faces and sounds at him!!!! Just watch out tho cause the laugher is also coupled with drool!!!! LOL Babbling is also one of Ayden’s past times. He will babble to pretty much anything that is close to him…a toy, mommy or daddy, or even just his hands!
Mirror, Mirror on the wall….
Today Ayden was looking in the mirror with me and started to smile at the baby who was looking back at him. For the last while he’s not been to interested in the mirror, but today he smiled and coo’d at the reflection! It was so cute!!!!
Rolling over!!!
Well this morning at 9:55am (Wed, July 8, 2009) Ayden rolled over for the first time all by himself from his back to his front. I was talking with Grampy on the phone and Ayden was lying on the floor. All of a sudden he rolled over from lying on his back (and rolled using his left side) to lying on his tummy…. I was shocked!!!! I immediately messaged dad at work to tell him and then called him as well….That’s such a big step for our little boy. I had tears in my eyes of joy and excitement!!!
First Television Program…
Tonight Ayden and I watched our first televsion program together… we we playing together in the living room and I noticed that he looked up and saw the television and it seemed to catch his complete attention for a little while so I asked Lindsay to turn to TreeHouse, a children’s station here in Canada that plays 24hours of continuous kids programming. And then Ayden and I sat and watched a full episode of Big and Small. It was really cool to see the look of wonder on his face as these characters moved about the screen. I had a great time!
