Three Firsts In One Day!

Who knew waking up today that it would hold so many firsts for our little fella. It started off good because Ayden slept in a little – as of late he’s been getting up at 6:30am.. give or take, but today he slept till 7:15am. I know!!! that’s crazy. It gave mom time to have a shower – which she normally doesn’t have time for in the morning.

Today the infant development lady (Janice Richards) came to check in on Ayden – she makes sure that the little guy is meeting his developmental benchmarks and stuff like that and if he needs any help there’s a whole ton of people that are willing to step in and guide Ayden to make the most of his life.

At 4:30pm today Ayden’s Physiotherapist showed up to teach Lindsay and I exercises to help Ayden develop to meet his maximum potentials. His right hand muscles are really tight so we have to stretch open his hand and hold it open for short stints – in an effort to keep his hand from seizing up. So we do those and he showed us all sorts of techniques, some to help him crawl, others to help him sit. Its a fair amount of work involved but we don’t mind. Anything that will give him advantages.

Ayden Had his first vegitable today… yes he did. He took his Oat cereal with some carrots.. I know!! thats like shreddies and carrots.. seriously sounds disgusting to me.. but Lindsay tried it and it was actually really sweet, or so she said. He loved it… ate it all down. So that’s cool.

Then after dinner Ayden and I had some playtime. And it was awesome – he pulled my hair, and grabbed my nose and I rasberried his tummy and had him laughing really hard… it was a good play time for us.  I play with him almost every night… it’s not often I miss that. And I guess we were playing so hard Ayden had his first ‘solids’ poo!!! yaaa and all on his own. Normally some sort of ‘assistant’ is needed be it a suppository or something but since he’s been eating ‘solids’ aka the cereal and stuff this is his first poo. It’s a big step – it tells us we’re on the right track and that the solid food is what he needs.

So now he’s tucked into his bed and off in dream land… and I’m going to take some time for myself after I clean up a bit and try and do some artwork.

Until next time.
