smiles…

Hi there Ayden…this is mom here….

I had to write a post on your web site so that you know how awesome it is to see you smile!  over the last few weeks you have begun to do a whole bunch of new things. You are “talking” up a storm, you have not quite laughed yet…when you are awake…LOL, you like to be put on your back on the floor with a mirror in front of you, you are reaching for toys now too…you don’t know what to do when you get them, but you know that you want them!  I noticed yesterday when we got home from an outing that you don’t mind staying in your car seat as long as you can see us. I was in the kitchen cleaning up the other day, and I also noticed that while you were in your car seat your eyes and head was following me as I moved about!

This morning as I put you in your crib, you started to stare up at the mobile that we have in there, so I turned it on and you seemed fasinated by it! (we’ve tried it before but you couldn’t see it then, but now you want to watch it move!)

The other thing you do which is so great to see, is your smiles!  When we are talking to you or you are lying on the floor and you are happy, you smile…but it’s not just a smile with your mouth, your whole face lights up. Your eyes even smile, it’s the cutest thing.  I love to make you smile by touch or by sound…your smile makes us smile too!!!

You are quite the noisy sleeper as well. You move about and you “talk” in your sleep, making coo’ing sounds or even squealing (like you are about to cry but don’t). The first few nights your dad and I were concerned and thought you were awake, but after looking in on you, you were fast asleep…you must be dreaming…ah…clean bum dreams, dreams of nice warm milk, dreams of car rides, bath time, talk time, snuggle time…all the happy things! Even right now as i write this you are in your crib and you are making noises, but I look over at the video monitor and you are fast asleep…

I love to watch you grow. Each day you do something different or have a new expression. you are also getting to be less fussy and more of a happy baby. There are times when you get some bad gas cramps and just can’t stop crying, or you are tired and cry until I hold you tight, but on the whole, you are getting to be a calmer baby….You are also snuggling a bit more with daddy and I know he loves that. I have to be careful though not to let you hear my voice when you are with him as you will wake up and realize that you are not with mom and start to cry for me…tee hee…

Well, I should go and wash some bottles before you wake up again.

Ayden, I love you with all my heart. You bring a smile to my face and joy to my life. You are a blessing to our family.
