It's Midnight – are you still eating?
Well here we are… it’s midnight and mommy is feeding little Ayden – who has just successfully burped. Ya today was a pretty good day compared to yesterday. I note these so that the little fella will know what a stinker he is. And by stinker I mean another word your not old enough to know yet.
Ya yesterday Ayden was like some little monster… OMG! he just wouldn’t settle down. We tried everything… first you’d pick him up .. and he’d cry.. and then you’d check his diaper .. he’d cry.. you’d give him food, he’d eat and then cry…. we tried to give him gripe water.. he’d fuss and toss his arms in the way and spit it out.. then cry.. there was just no pleasing this little guy. Poor Mommy, she was with him all day like that – when I got home around 5pm she was in tears because she didn’t know how to make him happy. That’s all we wanna do right now is make him happy – but we can’t communicate yet so we have to guess… looking back I’m thinking it was because of gas, and I say that because after all the feeds he didn’t burp much – he didn’t let you.. he cried for more milk…
So Lindsay called her parents and mentioned to Grampy and Gramy how fussy he was being and Grampy agreed to come down the next day to help out. He’s very fond of his grandson afterall. So today Grampy shows up and who’s the perfect little angel.. he would eat and then pass out all day. In fact Grampy got to settle back in a chair here and let the little guy fall asleep on him. Not exactly the fussy beastie we had talked about..
Yesterday was so bad – we had to use some “Tough Love” and let him cry himself to sleep. which broke Lindsay’s heart – we really don’t like when he’s suffering… I think its in light of all the stuff that has gone on..
but now he’s chugging away at a bottle with some meds in it.. oh nope – he’s finished that one.. 40mils there.. he’s on the second bottle now… He’s got on a cute little onesie thing with feet.. but he’s not quite long enough to fit into the feet… not yet at least. Mom is fighting for a burp right now.. Daddy might have to step up I’m good at finding them.. they like to hide under his armpit.
Well the CD has just zipped back to track one as it repeats a Fisher Price Rainforest-esque relaxing track of cricket sounds and soft xylophone notes… playing some familiar songs and old childhood favourites. It repeats all night long as in the NICU he was used to sounds.
Well I think it’s time Daddy find that burp… hope everyone else is snug in their warm beds dreaming happy things that make you smile.
nite all…
yeah he likes the rainforest CD awesome if I do say so myself
