103 days and finally HOME!!!!

Well, you read right!!!

We are at home!!!

Ayden has been doing so well with the breastfeeding that yesterday alone he gained 20grams. He also passed his car seat test too. So when the doctor came into see us this morning, he said that since we were doing so well, Ayden bought his ticket out!!!!!  Mark did a little dance right there!!!

So while the nurses were doing the discharge, we cleaned out my room, packed the car and dealt with the parking passes. Mark also got all of the prescription medications filled for Ayden as well.

The nurse gave us all the info, and also told us how to administer the meds. He is on 3 different kinds, it’s going to be interesting giving them to him…they also gave us the schedule for the meds and it’s all over the place…but it keeps him healthy so we will stick to it.

After the nurses discharged us, we couldn’t leave as Ayden was so hungry!!!  LOL…so I had to feed him before we left. We also had a nice visit from our Minister from Calvin church here in Kitchener. He said a prayer for Ayden’s health and for some good times at home.

At 11:30 we left the hospital!

Since we had both cars at the hospital, I drove the SUV with Ayden and Mark took the saturn. Ayden seemed to like the car ride as he slept all the way home.

So now we are home and just relaxing on the couch. Ayden is all snuggled in dads arms after another good feeding. We already had the first at home poopy diaper and dad got to change it…LOL…

You don’t understand how nice it is to be home. I mean, I have been away for SO long…but it was all worth it. We have our family together here at home and for that I am thankful!

Yay!!!! Welcome home Ayden & Lindsay!!!! I am so excited for you guys. Finally you can just enjoy being parents. I was going to say you can stop worrying, but truthfully even if you hadn’t of had to go through all of these challenges the worry is never ending. Enjoy your family time :o)

Here’s a little history to coincide with Ayden’s history. Ayden came home on February 23, 2009… Exactly 100 years to the day that John A.D. McCurdy made the first powered flight in Canada. The Silver Dart took off on a frozen lake in Baddeck, Nova Scotia securing Canada’s place in aviation history. Our nation has since then been on the forefront of aviation innovation creating some of the most successful and recognizable aircraft in the world. Neat, eh?

    Cheers!

    Nic.
