Cuddles keep me sane!!!
So today I went down to the hospital for my daily visit with Ayden. I arrived at 10:30 to a soundly sleeping baby boy. He was lying on his tummy with his hands at his face all tucked in. He looked so peaceful, I just sat down and watched him sleep. He finally started to stir at about 11:45 so the nurse came over and checked his lungs to make sure they sounded clear and they did. Then I changed his diaper…smelly boy…LOL…and it was then time for some mom and Ayden time. We had a 20 minute breast feeding trial today. He latched really well, but then would pull his head away, and then would re-latch…but it was enjoyable and he did get some milk from me too!
After we had our breastfeeding time, we hooked his milk up to his feeding tube. (they have put his food of 44 mils over 20 minutes now!). I lifted Ayden and placed him on my chest where we sat for about an hour and a half. What a wonderful snuggle I had. I just hummed to him and stroked his head and held his hand. He nuzzled into me today…so nice! Ayden did start to show signs of wanting his pacifier or wanting the breast again…(he started to lick me and tried to suck my neck…LOL)…
So I put him back into his crib, tucked him in and gave him the pacificer. He just stared at me while I was talking to him and holding his little hand.
I think today was one of my best visits. The nurse actually left me alone with him. She said if I needed her to call, but other then that, he was totally in my care..and that was the BEST feeling ever!!!!
Ayden now weighs 2544 grams (5 pounds 9 and a half ounces). He’s getting to be a big boy!
I would also like to announce Ayden’s Godparents. Andrew and Maria Ambrose have been kind enough to become part of our family!
I hope everyone has a wonderful evening!
