!!!Merry Christmas!!!
Merry Christmas everyone!
I hope everyone has had a great day visiting with family and friends.
Last night we had Christmas with Mark’s mom side. Had a great dinner of Italian food, great company too. Ayden got some really nice gifts such as some clothes, a music snow globe ball and we would like to thank everyone for a great time.
This morning Mark and I got up and had our Christmas together at home. I got Mark a Blue Ray DVD player with a few movies. Mark got me two new faries and also a wonderful beautiful picture that he made for me of a fairy. I love it so much. It’s already hung on the wall!!!
After we had our time at home, Mark and I traveled to Oakville to visit with my family for Christmas. What a great morning. My dad and Lyli made a really nice breakfast (as they always do). Lots of food, great company too. Ayden got some clothes as well. My family also did something so wonderful that I could not even read the card as I was in tears and speechless. My family is donating some funds to the hospital in Ayden’s name. What a wonderful gift. It’s one of the most thoughtful gifts we have ever received. I can’t even express my thanks and appreciation for this….
After a great time with my family, we took my dad and Lyli up to the hospital for a visit.
Ayden is doing well today. His weight was up a bit to 1432 grams (3.15 pounds) but this was not a true weight as Ayden was retaining a lot of fluid. Last night they gave him a diuretic called Lasix to help the fluid leave his body. They told us today that Ayden got rid of a lot of the fluid through his urine today and they expected his weight to drop a bit due to the fluid. Ayden also had a blood transfusion today as well. Apparently they were noticing that his oxygen was all over the place, he was swinging a lot. We left the hospital just after the blood transfusions was started. Ayden looked really good though. I just wanted to pick him up and hug him. Today was a hard day to leave him at the hospital, both dad and I wanted to bring him home…
So after the hospital we went to Matt and Cindy’s for the Wilhelm side Christmas. A wonderful dinner of Turkey, Ham and all sorts of food was ready for dinner. We spent some time with Mark’s dad and the step side of the family. Great company! Ayden came away with a Winnie the Pooh piggy bank, some clothes too!
So after a busy day, Mark and I did our evening call to the hospital.
Ayden is doing really well! The transfusion went well, no problems. His oxygen is stabilized. They said that since Ayden did not have enough hemoglobin, his body could not regulate the oxygen in his body, but since they gave him new blood, there is enough oxygen for him to stabilize!!! His weight did drop from 1432 grams to 1377 grams (3.02 pounds). No problem there as they expected this to happen. All of his vital signs are great. He is on 16 mils of milk every hour and a half and is tolerating that well too…
What a great Christmas we have had. we got to spend it with our little boy, and families! Ayden’s health is great today and he is doing really well.
We couldn’t ask for a better day.
I wish everyone a Merry Christmas and happy holidays!
