Christmas Eve and 31 Weeks Old!!!!
Well our little guy is now 42 days old!!! wow – that’s awesome what a great christmas eve day this has been… well except for the two hours of shoveling I did this morning at from 5:30 till 7:30am. But after that and a shower I’m doing much better. Lindsay and I zipped out quickly to the stores – I wanted to get lindsay to pick out a new fairy for her collection. And Seeing as I enjoy looking at them too – that makes it kinda for the both of us. After that we headed up to Mac to see how Ayden was doing.
What a drive there – everything is all wet and melty and then it started to rain… rain on Christmas eve… what’s that all about? But we got there in one piece. When we got up to the ward, we bumped into Dr Shah, who informed us that an ultrasound had been performed this morning. He was concerned by the possibility that Ayden’s fluids in his head might be taking up the room that his brain should… he hasn’t needed a lumbar puncture in some time now – so he got worried that perhaps his head grew.. but his brain hadn’t and the difference was made up in fluid. So we were waiting to hear about that…
Mom had some time where she had kangaroo time so that was good – she really had a chance to cradle him this time. she held him for two hours before he started to get a little finicky. He wanted to get back to his bed. At that point a hospital staff member came in with a wrapped tin of assorted cookies, and teas and things which was all donated on behalf of a set of parents who were celebrating bringing there child home from the Nicu. So whoever you are congratulations and thank you very much for your gift. Then the Dr came in and wanted to share with us the results of the ultrasound. He told us that Ayden’s brain is growing at a perfect rate/day. His ventricles are looking clear and haven’t grown at all. The blood that was in his brain is just about completely washed away now just naturally. So he said that Ayden is perfect for is age and his weight. He has done a miraculous turn around… so that’s good.
Lindsay was told that she’s the top milk producer of the entire hospital 😀 go.. Lindsay!
My brother Matt and family got down to Mac and met up with us and we took them in one at a time to see the little fella. I think my godson, Kristopher (aka Boomer) is responsible for Ayden’s family nickname. A-TRAIN!!!! to attribute the fact that he’s just plowing through all his obstacles. Lindsay and I love it!!!!
So now were’ on our way to Oma’s for Christmas eve dinner.. mmmm italian theme this year!
MERRY CHRISTMAS everyone from my family to yours!!!!
Dear Mark and Lindsay,
Blessings to you both and to Ayden. Tonight, at Calvin Church, (Kitchener), we will be including Lindsay and Ayden in our prayers. I hope for safety in your travels.
