7 Days Blessed With A Son
Hiya gang,
So it’s been 7 days now that the little guy has been with us. Can you believe it… 7 days… it was just back on Nov 6th that Lindsay went into the hospital.. Then on that fateful night/morning… she gave birth to a 790g boy.
Well today he’s lost a little weight, coming in at 660g. He is still breathing on his own, his heart came back strong and well, so that test is a victory. The 2nd ultrasound of his head did show that the bleeding hasn’t gotten worse but is still fairly severe. Now we did have time to talk to the Dr and there are procedures in place that they didn’t tell us about before… so shame on you Dr Zikar. I’ll get into those procedures more after we talk with Dr Fusch on Thursday. Other positive things… they removed all of the lines into his umbilical tube today and gave him a “PIC” line which is a more permanent IV – it can last for up to 30 days. The only problem with that is that sometimes the end of it can clot up so as a result they had to give him an anti-coagulating shot. Which apparently he was on before anyway.
I was beside myself to see him open his eyes tonight… they didn’t open all the way as the seam is still forming but still the little navy blue eyes within.. spun around and looked out then rolled back. I sang him twinkle twinkle little star tonight… I think he liked it… *shrugs*
They did mention that he wasn’t eating. When food would go in.. it would often return in greenish globules of bile. Now personally I thought this was because he hasn’t had a good poo yet… when I asked about that the told us they gave him a suppliment that would induce that..and sure enough when we were there and talking about poo… out came a real good one.. lol so perhaps if he can get that out of the way it’ll be time to chug down on some milk. Mom filled the freezer with tiny orange lid bottles.. the kind you would use in a urine sample. She fills two every time she pumps which is every three hours for 20-30mins. So – if he can get some food to stay down.. he’ll never go hungry again.
In the gallery are new images – I’ve been Fighting with how they get posted.
