1st Night
uuugh… if this doesn’t make any sense it’s because baby is a native word for ‘stealer of sleep’ midnight hit and he started to wail… he’d never done that before… and he just wailed and wailed.. it took all my fatherly superpowers to get him calm and asleep – but you can’t put him down.. so I took the first watch.. 12 to 3:20am and then I got to sleep from 3:40am till 6;30am.
Poor mom she looks beat… but her parents are coming to see her today so perhaps she can sneak in a nap. I have to head to work.. instincts have kicked in to head to a timmies, these have been dormant for some time… until now.
But dispite the shrill whailling in my face for a good hunk of the night… I love him to bits and will do it all again tonight and every night after…
be good for Mom today little guy.
Welcome to parenthood!! I love that your first night home with Ayden was so completely normal :o) No spells, or apnea mishaps…just the usual fussy baby getting used to new surroundings. Love it!! I\’m so happy for the 3 of you.
Congrats on surviving the 1st night home. I am so excited for the Wilhelm Family. Timmies will become your new best friend. mmmmm coffee! 🙂
Just enjoy every minute, as they get big so fast. I found this poem I would like to share.
Someday I’ll jump through puddles,
Take a stroll or run a race.
Someday I’ll walk across the street,
Or maybe walk in space,
Someday I’ll scale a mountain,
Or I’ll join a ballet corps.
Someday I’ll walk a tightrope,
Or explore the ocean floor.
Someday these feet will do some things,
That only heaven knows,
But for today they’re happy
Just to wiggle all their toes.
Congrats again
Leanne
What a journey… Amazing when you look back 100 days ago to all the prayers, fears, unknowns and here you are today. Your prayers and all of our prayers have been answered!
Great to hear you didn’t get any sleep last night! (lol) Well the first 103 days of your parenting are over and the next 20,000 are in front of you both. It will be fun I am sure!
Looking forward to visiting – let us know when you are free for company after you get all settled into your routine and enjoy your “family time” alone…
Thanks and congratulations to all three of you!!

Wow, this is such great news to hear that you have him home. I have been reading almost daily and keeping Dr. McKinnon up-to-date. Even though I don’t really know you both, I am very very happy for you. I can’t wait to meet the little guy.
So glad to hear you are finally home Ayden!!
