December 20th 38 days old

Well, Finally after all of the hospital visits and surgery I got to see my little boy today.

He looks so much bigger to me!!! I mean, his body is still so tiny and he is not even 3 pounds yet, but the last week and a half has added a little tiny bit of baby chubb to Ayden!

So he is doing really well. He is out of his kanagaroo bed and is now in a regular incubator. His weight as of today is 1290 grams and he is eating 14 mils of milk every hour and a half. His oxygen is down to about 22-25%, he is still swinging but that is considered normal and on par for his gestional age.

Because of the surgery my body is really weak and healing so I was not able to hold Ayden today but I did rub his little back and play with his feet and hands.

Oh…Ayden now has nipples!!!  Because of when he was born, there were certain things that were not developed on his body and nipples was one of them. It’s a small thing, but a big thing too…

Santa was in the NICU yesterday to visit all the babies. They took a picture of Santa peering in on Ayden…it’s so cute, made me cry right away…I wish I could have been there!

It was really really nice to see him today. I missed him over the last while and it was too long between visits (not that it could have been helped)….

Anyways, he is doing well. We have some pictures from today that I am going to try to post. Check out Gallery II.

Cheers
