a lot has happened…
Well little man, a lot has happened in the past while.
First off we took you to the doctor to see about your sensitive area in your below regions. The on-call doctor that we saw on Saturday Sept 19th said that you had a yeast infection and prescribed us some cream to use. well we used the cream and your area became more inflamed…so I called our family doctor and we saw him on Monday. He said it’s just like a diaper rash, skin rubbing on skin and to put lots of diaper cream on it (such as Penaten). he also said that you are teething although nothing is showing through yet. You also weight 16.6 pounds now! Such a big boy you are!
You found your toes tonight and tried to eat them…it was so darn cute!
You have given mommy a hard time with eating in the past while. You started to push the bottle away, but then you would cry because you were hungry. So mommy found a new way of holding you when giving the bottle and it seems to be working. You are not eating as much right now, but you are growing so I guess you are getting all the food you need. You really let me know when you are done eating. With the bottle you will purse your lips together and turn your head and whine….it’s kinda cute….You are doing well with solid foods, however we have found two foods that you dislike. You don’t like cereal with yogurt and fruit in it (it makes you have projective vomiting – so much so that your highchair was dripping from all the vomit and daddy had to clean the chair with the backyard hose) and the other is chicken with broth (I think the consistency made you gag and not the flavor). All other foods right now are a go tho.
You are doing really well in the pooping department. when you were just on formula you were pooping every 6 days or so and now we are almost every day! woo hoo.
You have started to reach for mommy’s glass if I am drinking something. You just are so interested in what we are eating and drinking, you want to be a part of it.
You are now also 7 months past your due date as well.
Physio came in last week and told me that you are doing so well and are right on track with your development that he does not need to see you every week but now he can see you every other week! such a big step!
You have been giving mommy a hard time with naps as well. You get so tired, rubbing your eyes and yawning, but as soon as I would put you in your crib you would start to cry. I really didn’t know what to do. I asked your Aunt Kim and she gave me a hint…You love to be warm, in fact I wrap you in two blankets…so Aunt Kim suggested that I use a heating bag (magic bag) or hot water bottle in your crib with you. The other thing was that I had to teach you that nap time is nap time….so Aunt Kim also suggested that I put you in your crib with the warm magic bag and walk away….let you cry it out. Now I was never a fan of letting you cry it out, it just breaks my heart. The first time I tried this, I put you down for a nap with you all wrapped, your magic bag beside you all nice and warm and I left the room. You started crying as soon as I put you in the crib….but I then went to have a shower. I for sure thought that you would still be crying after my 16 min shower, but I came back upstairs and you were asleep in your crib. From then on in, I have only had a few times where I had to delay the nap by getting you from your crib and playing for a bit and then putting you down a half an hour to an hour later so you would sleep. . Thank you Aunt Kim!!!!
Today we went to visit Grammy and Grampy. You had a blast playing with them. You even sat in a booster seat for the first time and had some peaches that mommy brought from home. we had to put some dishtowles in beside you to hold you up, but you did well in the chair. We have been having a hard time getting you to sleep at other peoples houses, but today when we visited, I brought your blankets that I use to wrap you. You got really really tired at 1:30, so I wrapped you, got a magic bag from Grampy and took you up to the spare room. I wedged some pillows beside you so you would not roll and left you to sleep. I was shocked that you actually slept for 1 hour and 40 mins!!!!
one last thing, you are rolling like crazy. We will put you in the middle of the floor and somehow you will end up at the other side of the room. You have not figured out crawling yet, but I am sure that will come soon!
Your dad and I love you little guy. You are so special to us.
I’m so glad that the nap time is working better now with the magic bag and showering technique…of course now I worry that when he grows up, little A-train is going to resent me… *laugh* … today rolling across the room, tomorrow — THE WORLD!!!
much love to you all,
“Aunty” Kim <3
